Blank Canvas and Curiosities Fun

Good morning crafty friends! :)

I've got a couple of projects to share with you today featuring exclusive stamps and dies available at SCACD.

This pretty silhouette stamp is No Boundaries Woman from the Mixed Media  Blank Canvas collection. The image was stamped on watercolour paper in Archival Ink. The background was created with washes of Luminarte Mica Powders in Blue Flame and Teal Zircon. I also brushed some of the colour wash over the design papers to tie them in. The corners were created with Classic Corner Dies by SCACD and the flourish is a Memory Box Die. The paper is from Authentique, and the butterflies were cut out from some of the design papers in the paper pad. You can check out the entire selection of 6x6 pads at SCACD HERE.

Next up is one of the recently released Curiosities. This is Clueless who comes with the fun coordinating sentiment. I used a manilla tag and created a background using inks. Susana carries a fantastic variety of sprays and inks that could also be used to create backgrounds, so make sure to check out Art Anthology, LuminarteDylusions sprays and Distress Stains.  The tag was then run through my cuttlebug with a Couture Creations embossing folder. This sentiment comes with another Curiosity, The Thinker, and was stamped in Versafine Ink. The image was stamped in Memento Ink and coloured with a combination of Copics and Shinhans. I also added a couple of corner elements cut with the Classic Corner Dies by SCACD.

Good morning folks! Hope you've all had a great week. :)

Our challenge this week over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog is "Fussy Cutting", brought to us by our lovely and talented hostess Amanda. I love this challenge as I fussy cut almost every image I colour, lol.

I used my favourite stamp from the newly released Lovely Literature collection by Krafty Artist Annie Rodrigue, the ever so dashing Sherlock Holmes. I absolutely LOVE the frame Annie created for him, and how the tendrils of smoke extend outside the frame. Sherlock comes with two sentiments, one of which is "Elementary" as seen on my card. Incidentally, has anybody been watching the new series Elementary this year?? I love it! I paired Sherlock up with some great papers from Bo Bunny Timepiece. Everything was distressed for a masculine feel. After fussing cutting the image, I mounted it on a layer cut with Spellbinders. The two corner embellishments were cut with Dies by SCACD, the upper is Classic Corner Dies and the lower is Alice's Clock Statement Corner.

Sherlock was stamped in Memento Ink and coloured with Copics.

They were then sponged with Stormy Sky and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. Machine stitching was added for a finishing touch.

"Nancy Drew"...A Kraftin' Kimmie Sneak Peek!

Hi krafty friends!! Are you ready for another sneak peek of the new Kraftin' Kimmie February stamps being released tomorrow?? The Krafty Girls and our Krafty Guest will be sharing projects featuring the new stamps by Krafty Artist Annie Rodrigue today in conjunction with our weekly challenge! The challenge is super simple..."Anything Goes", and our lovely hostess is Jenny.

So what has Annie created this month?? How about "Lovely Literature"? Annie has brought six beloved characters from literature to life: Little Orphan Annie, Scarlett O'Hara, Sherlock Holmes, Nancy Drew, Anne of Green Gables and Mary Poppins!!

I have always been an avid reader. I absolutely love getting engrossed in a good book! For today's card, I decided to use a character from books that I loved as a young girl, Nancy Drew! I read so many of these books and had a collection of several, many procured from a used book store that I would frequent with my best friend. After making my card, I decided to search through some of my old books and found a few old Nancy novels...just perfect for staging my card today! (you'll  notice the one is quite tattered...that was definitely one my my used book store finds!) Another happy coincidence is that I used yellow paper on the card which matches the yellow spines on the books perfectly! The papers are My Mind's Eye and the fun sentiment comes with Nancy Drew. The corner embellishments are Make It Crafty Chipboard.

Nancy Drew was stamped on Neenah in Memento Ink and coloured with Copics.

Skin: E000, E00, E11, RV42  Hair: E50, YR31, Y23, E31, E33, E59  Clothes: BG70, BG72, BG75, R81, R85, R59, E18, G82, G85, C5, C7

Love is in the Air with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

Welcome to our weekly challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! This week our hostess is Sandie and her challenge is Love is in the Air!! So create a card, scrapbook page or altered item either with love as the main theme! That should be easy this time of the year!! Have some krafty fun and join us this week because we'd LOVE to see your KKS designs. We hope you can play along!!! HEY! Did you know that we've got a few of our most LOVERLY stamps on SALE in our VALENTINE SPECIALS right now??

I created a tag for the challenge this week. I used some white and blue acrylic paint on an Inksentials manilla tag. I stamped the flourishes in black ink. I used an older retired Scripture verse stamp on the top layer that was cut out with Spellbinders. I then went over that verse with more paint so that it was barely visible. I then stamped Dashing Dancers over top...I was trying to go for that layered look that many mixed media artists use on their pieces. Not so sure I was terribly successful, lol. The heart is a Kaisercraft wooden accent that was painted black. The bow was centered with a Prima embellishment and a few rhinestones were added for a finishing touch.

Don't forget about our Frugal Friday Specials that are on this weekend! Six of our favourite images on special 30-50% OFF but just until Sunday night!

Also our NEW Krafty Klubhouse Kit called FEATHERS AND FUR is now available! PLUS, if you order now, you'll receive your CHOICE of a free stamp! See the website for all the details!

Check out the wonderful creations by our Krafty Girls and Guests featuring this week's challenge over at the KKS Blog!! If you join us and play along, you could WIN a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp!!!

Today SCACD releases the sequel to the oh so popular Oddly Sweet Curiosities!!!

This is a fun and fresh stamp Collection from Susana Loves Stamps!!!We proudly introduce the Oddly Sweet Curiosities Sets 3 and 4 which house some of the cutest little Curiosities with matching sentiments. SCACD has continued with the appeal these little Curios have that are a combination of inspiration as well as happiness thru laughter...the best medicine!!! Each Curiosity comes with its own matching sentiment. So pick up one or the whole set so you can mix and match the sentiments.

To celebrate this release, we're having  fun blog hop showcasing the new stamps. You can find the complete hop list at the Store Blog. If you've been hopping along in order, you should have arrived here after visiting with my talented friend Alex. :)

I've created two cards for today hop. Up first is "Moments" from the Oddly Sweet Curiosities Set 4. Daydreaming and taking time to enjoy life's simple pleasures are often things we forget about as we grow up and get busy in the hectic pace of life. We should follow this little guy's lead, and remember to pause for a bit of quiet time amidst the hustle and bustle. :)  I paired him up with some Valentine's Day papers from last year. You can find the full selection of 6x6 paper pads including Valentine's designs HERE. The corners embellishments were cut with Fancy Flower and Key Corner Dies by SCACD. The flourishes were cut with a Memory Box Die. The pearls were created with a Viva Decor Pen. The dandelion fluff was touched with a bit of Stardust Stickles

"Moments" was stamped on Neenah in Memento Ink and coloured with Copics. The sky was sponged in with blue ink and hand cut cardstock cloud template.

Up next is "Me and My L'il Buddy" from the Oddly Sweet Curiousities Set 3. Dinosaurs are so much! The papers are from Authentique...again, HERE is the link to the paper selection at SCACD. The corners were cut with Classic Corner Dies by SCACD. The sentiment comes with the stamp, but remember that you can mix and match the sentiments and stamps from this set for lots of variety!

Me and My L'il Buddy was stamped in Memento Ink and coloured with Copics.

After you're done hopping today, make sure to head over to SCACD where the new stamps are all available for purchase! Our international friends can find them at Quixotic Paperie

SPECIAL NOTICE FOR MY FELLOW CANADIANS: It is with much regret that SCACD will no longer be shipping to Canada. Susana loves her loyal Canadian customers and has GREATLY appreciated each and every one of you over the years. However, USPS has recently significantly increased their shipping rates to Canada. They  have also changed their policies for preparing parcels for shipping, which has become very time consuming. She would LOVE to continue providing her customers with the amazing service they have come to appreciate, but these changes are out of her hands and unfortunately there is nothing she can do about them. So it is because of these factors that the decision was made to no longer ship to Canada. Quixotic Paperie will still be carrying the exclusive SCACD stamps and dies, so you can always purchase them there. Susana wishes to extend her heartfelt thanks for all the years of loyalty!!

It's now my pleasure to send you off to visit with the lovely and talented Kathi...happy hopping!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Feathers and Fur Krafty Klubhouse Kit!

Today Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps is releasing an EXCLUSIVE Moonlight Whispers stamp set!! FEATHERS AND FUR is the newest of our special Krafty Klubhouse Kits…..we’ve been releasing a new one every few months including Going Places , Sea Jewels and Three Wishes!

We are animal lovers in our house...despite me being ridiculously allergic. lol  My allergist has tried to convince me to be animal free...not going to happen! We are currently a three cat household. They are so much fun and each have a very distinct personality. I decided to use the kitty stamp from the new Kit for my card today. I've only had to bathe my cats on a few rare occasions, and they NEVER are this calm when approaching water! Granted, this kitty looks less than thrilled, but he is pretty relaxed. lol  I used some Cosmo Cricket papers, distressed all the edges and then sponged them with brown ink. The corner embellishments are Make It Crafty Chipboard that were coloured with my YG67 Copic.

The image was stamped in Memento Ink and coloured with Copics. I added some Stardust Stickles to the bubbles. I"m kicking myself for colouring that towel in's WAY too bright and garish for the pretty buttery yellow of the design papers. :(  My original intention was to paper piece with some of the Cosmo Cricket papers. Why didn't I? Because I was too darned lazy to get off my butt to go grab the stamp. Sad, huh?  Lesson learned??...don't take short cuts, as you'll likely regret them! lol

Be part of the Krafty Klub and order your exclusive set (it's available NOW!) which features three special edition stamps designed by Annie Rodrigue plus seven coordinating sentiment stamps! FEATHERS AND FUR will be sold only as a set and only at the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Shop!! {It will be released to some of our retailers in a few months.} Not only will you get this adorable new set, but you will also receive a sweet treat if you order this set before February 17th!! When placing your order for this Krafty Klubhouse Kit, you will get to pick out your choice of an $8 stamp from any of our lines....for FREE to be included with your order!!!! Say what???! That's just cuz we love our customers so much!!

Just to be clear…..there is NO club to join or sign up for! Anyone from anywhere in the world can order this special set but ONLY at the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Shop!! These images will not be sold individually, but only as the complete set called…..FEATHERS AND FUR!!

And while you're shopping, take advantage of this weekend's FRUGAL FRIDAY SPECIALS with several of our favourite stamps on 25-50% OFF!!

Check out the links below because all these Krafty Girls have gorgeous creations to share, featuring all three of the new Krafty Klubhouse images! And be sure to leave some love at each stop because one lucky stamper is going to WIN the new set!!
